How to reduce allergies in the home

Leave a comment

Suddenly I have developed allergies. Well when I say suddenly I mean I have sudden onset of allergy symptoms at a time I’ve never previously had them. Since relocating to the UK I do some years suffer from Hayfever symptoms and I did have a very random reaction to eggs for a couple of weeks after my last baby was born but fortunately I’ve never suffered from allergies in the home.

After going to bed at 1900 for 3 nights and still not feeling better I’ve been on a mission to clean, bleach and dust every corner of our home. It seems to be working and I feel less achey and tired today. Perhaps I should do more of this Spring cleaning business and do it more often. The heating and general freezing temperatures have made it a tad stuffy and cold with the windows open.

Here is what I’ve been putting into action. It’s a list of allergy reducing cleaning but I think the most effective, and possibly the most obvious (!), is to change from feather dusting to wet dusting. I do miss the magic wand flourish of a feather duster though ;
